Pattern toasts by Eiko Mori

Welcome to our brand new WeLike(d) section!
Every two weeks, we will share our cultural and artistic discoveries in design, photography or illustration.

Combining the most important meal of the day with a little bit of cuteness, that’s what Eiko Mori does.

This Japanese food stylist creates beautiful artwork on slices of shoku-pan, a traditional Japanese milk bread. With a toothpick, a spoon, and a miniature piping bag as her tools plus a spread of sour cream as her canvas, she designs arty patterns of fruits, sushis and even McDonald's French fries. Eiko Mori uses fruit jam, mango paste or black sesame, organized carefully and meticulously for a great result.

We wonder how many time she spends creating one piece of toast and does it feel to eat a beautiful piece of art!
With more than 21,000 followers on her Instagram account, her artwork has won us over (and our stomachs).
