Aurélie Mathigot opens a Pop-Up store

When Japan meets Paris, it works wonders.

Playtime Tokyo has just ended and we can’t get enough of Japan! We take this opportunity to invite you to a special event in the heart of Paris, where Japanese art will take up residence as from tomorrow thanks to the French artist Aurélie Mathigot.

We already know Aurélie Mathigot as she was behind one of the three trend spaces' artworks of the last edition of Playtime Paris- the "Shaman" trend space.
Passionate about Japan, she creates objects with patterns borrowed from the Japanese everyday life and landscapes. That is why the Japan Store ISETAN MITSUKOSHI invited her to present a POP-UP STORE, focusing on the cultural bridge between France and Japan.

The POP UP will present the artist's personal work as well as her relationship with Japanese designers as part of her various art collaborations: Soryu Gama, Tokyo Print, Patrick, frankygrow, Otutumi, and Paletscent.

Aurélie Mathigot will also present her collaborations with French brands such as Macon&Lesquoy or Papier Tigre to name of a few.

Japanese side featuring Otutumi's furoshiki, Patrick's crochet, Paletscent's foulards and Soryu Gama's embroidered ceramic
French side featuring Papier Tigre's notebooks, Macon&Lesquoy's pins, Atelier de Vilatte's ceramic and Comme des Garçons' wallets

The POP UP will take place during Women's Fashion Week in Paris, from February 27 to March 10. In addition to presenting the collection of Aurélie MATHIGOT, a special “pompom“ workshop for children from 5 to 12 years will be set up on March 3 from 11 am to 12 pm (the number of places being limited, it is necessary to register by sending an email to the following address: contact@isetanmitsukoshi.fr)

Aurélie MATHIGOT will be at the opening of the POP-UP tomorrow, February 27 from 6 to 9 pm. Make sure to be there!

TOKYO CROSSING by Aurélie Mathigot
For me, Tokyo is a geometric and visual show, every time and everywhere, of lines and structures like a contemporary mythology of fullness and emptiness. Aurélie Mathigot, visual artist
